Omaha Hi Lo: General Overview

Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha 8 or better) is often times viewed as one of the most complex but popular poker games. It is a game that, even more than normal Omaha poker, invites play from all levels of players. This is the primary reason why a once irrelevant variation, has expanded in popularity so rapidly.
Omaha 8 or better starts exactly like a normal game of Omaha. Four cards are given out to each player. A sequence of betting follows where gamblers can wager, check, or fold. Three cards are dealt out, this is known as the flop. A further round of wagering happens. Once all the players have in turn called or folded, a further card is revealed on the turn. an additional sequence of wagering follows at which point the river card is revealed. The entrants will need to make the best high and low 5 card hands based on the board and hole cards.
This is the point where some players get baffled. Unlike Texas Holdem, where the board can make up everyone’s hand, in Omaha Hi-Lo the player must utilize precisely three cards on the board, and exactly 2 cards from their hand. No more, not a single card less. Unlike normal Omaha, there are two ways a pot might be won: the "high hand" or the "lower hand."
A high hand is just how it sounds. It is the strongest possible hand out of every player’s, regardless if it is a straight, flush, full house. It is the identical notion in nearly every poker game.
A low hand is more difficult, but certainly free’s up the play. When determining a low hand, straights and flushes do not count. the lowest hand is the worst hand that can be made, with the worst being A-2-3-4-5. Because straights and flushes don’t count, A-2-3-4-5 is the smallest value hand possible. The lower hand is any 5 card hand (unpaired) with an 8 and smaller. The low hand takes half of the pot, as just like the higher hand. When there is no lower hand presented, the high hand takes the complete pot.
It may seem complicated at first, following a couple of rounds you will be agile enough to get the fundamental nuances of play simply enough.
